  • need help with improving performance of my honda unicorn 2009 model

    Hi all,

i own a honda unicorn (2009 model). i was wondering in what ways i can improve my bike's performance.. like changing the air filters, tyres, etc, etc..

i have came across k&N / green air filters (read it here in xBHP) can anyone please suggest which one would be better for my bike..?

also if you can provide any other ways to tune my bike & improve the performance... every1 is welcome...

i don't want to decrease the mileage.. :P

    thanks in advance..

Dont go for any free flow air filter modds.. They lets fine dirt particles to enter your engine and only provide unnoticable increase.
Better go for free flow exhaust, big bore, head job etc.
And power only comes by burning more fuel (efficiently) so your mileage MAY go down

            Honda Unicorn Performance and Speed

Nice Thread started. What is this "bolt on kit". Means I don't know about this. Like I am aware that Honda Unicorn has top speed of 100 to 105. Like is this kit increases the speed of the bike. Also, One more thing whenever Unicorn goes above 80 or 85 Km, it starts vibrating. Now, My bike has some problems which I was discussing with other members and gonna get it repaired. I have heard a lot about K& N Filters and they are costly too. Now, which one will be the best for Unicorn in matters of quality, performance etc. Next, Everytime I have a question in my mind. Is there any kind of speed lock in bikes. Pls clear me if anything is wrong. Thanks

Thanks

rewinding helps improve electricity output of any bike.. for example if your bike is capable of producing 100watts in a given rpm, after rewinding you'll be able to produce 120.. or 130.. or 150.. may be more. so you can use more powerfull bulbs etc.

No, at least rewinding is needed.
But its better to upgrade your head lamp's wiring too.. As a safe guard.

^^ Upgrading your head lamp's stock wiring to (slightly) thicker wire so that it can bear the load of 55/60 watt bulb without overheating or short-circuit
