  • Is it the battery or the bike? P220

    hi guys,
i am facing a problem with my pulsar 220 dtsi. if i leave my bike in the garage for two days and not ride it it refuses to start i hear a krrrr krrrr sound when i start and after two three attempts the battery indicator starts blinking. i took the bike to a local mech he connected another 7amp battery and started the bike. this issue is going on for around a month. the time period of this problem was around 2weeks and it came down to two days now.. i took the battery to a nearby exide shop where they checked and said that the acid level of the battery was very low so they topped it off and also kept the battery 24hrs for charge. after i bought back the battery and fitted it to my bike it again refuses to start. i again took it to that mech and he started it with another battery. i didnt get time to go back to that exide shop again.. but guys please help me to figure out the issue as i will take my bike to pbk next week but pbk guys are known for there run around attitude so i am afraid that it will be a run around between exide and pbk. guys can it be an issue with the bike or battery and wat can be wrong PLS HELP

The issue is with the battery. My 200's battery lasted just above a year and had the same symptoms and was done when the battery replacement was done. Btw. all the 200's 220 FI's & 220 DTS-I's came with maintenance free sealed type battery, how come ur mech or the battery guy filled it with acid & charge it???

You should get the alternator checked. The battery is not getting charged once the ignition happens and hence, all the battery charge is drained off.. If your bike is in Warranty then better get it replaced after due inspection from the PBK guys...

before replacing the battery, check if your bike's charging is ok, check the RR unit output- both volts and current, also check stator coil output- both voltage and current. check the continuity of stator coil ckt.

              @ pranjal chakraborty

Replace the battery with Amaron for better durability and warranty.
