  • Help needed for RTR 180 Lights

    hi,

I have rtr 180 bike and i really love it... recently i got many engine problems and ended up spending 10k changing almost all parts inside.. two months before i met with accident and changed whole front part...

Now everything was working great.. used bike for more than 25k KMs and thought now its time to mod my bike..

So i went and bout Xenons Projector light, woods horn and xeonon security lock.. all fitted!! my bike was looking great!!!

There problem started.. when all was connected after riding 1 Km, my bikes speedometer kit automatically switched off and on, off and on and offf.. cant start my bike.. self was not working.. speedie was not working.. kicked and it started.. went to shop and exchanged security lock.. and it was working not soo fine.. so i disconnected it (main plug of lock).. then today again had problem with speedie.. it was not showing perfectly.. like pointer was in red and above it.. when i pressed horn, it switched off and duration of pressing horn, on that time the blue ligh was glowing and its off when i left that horn button... switched off bike and switched on again and it was working normal..

then again horn was not working, and when i pressed it my light got off and when i released horn my light was again on....

am really pissed offf... pls help guys.. i don know any wirings of bike.. and none can help me..

i am from chennai and i want some solution for it..

        Hello Yogesh.

First and the foremost, let me make things clear.
You need to have a Full DC bike to run HID and other stuff, as on your current configuration is AC/DC.

What's happening is that your using your battery to run your headlamp, the higher wattage horn, and the security alarm.
Your battery is getting discharged very quickly, so you need to improve the charging rate of your battery, you can follow other threads about how to convert a AC/DC bike to Full DC.
Once that's done, only then you'll be able to use all the battery related stuff easily.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

and u need to get an APE RR unit.. keep in mind.. don't buy any local one's.. get the original APE RR unit.. the 2nd and 3rd photo is of the RR unit in the link I've posted previously

Ask for 19 gauge copper winding wire. Its sold on weight basis. You can rewind it at home. Make sure you take care while removing the previous winding as the wire scrapes fingers very easily and that WILL hurt. Also when winding new wire upon it, make sure you will make the tightest turn of the wire on the core.
