  • Tappet settings for RTR 180

Today while riding my friends apache rtr180 i noticed a strange rattling noise coming from the engine.

This noise i am sure is of the tappets......i have heard that tappets need to be tightened or loosened according to our riding

my friends daily running is 15-20km and his average speed is not more than 45kmph.

what should the tappet setting be??? should it be tighter or looser???

plzz help me out soon....coz my friend has been worried sick since the time i told him of the noise.

Well, there was no need to make a separate thread for it.You should have posted your query in the RTR180 ownership thread.Anyways,if you are so sure that it is the tappet noise, then they might be loose.Get it set from a good mech or TVS SVC.Tappet clearance is 0.06mm for the intake & 0.08mm for the exhaust.
