  • Touring - Original Docs Required?

Guy's i'm planning a weekend getaway with a friend to Bangalore from Chennai. Trouble is that i dont have the original of the RC book. It is with my financier, shriram finance.

    Would that be a problem?

Also, a TN registration bike on Bangalore roads, what to say if a cop catches me?

    Thanks guys!

Have a copy of rc, original insurance , emission etc. It would be even better if you get the copy of RC attested. That will serve the purpose. Also carry the fuel recipts and toll gate recipts. Will be more the helpful in claiming that you are touring.

no, you will have origional RC with you.financer has not right to keep origional RC with them.i had been a banker and financed so many automobiles.financer will keep a photo copy of RC.without origional RC you will in risk all the time.policy can book you at any time and any place.keep this in your mind before riding the bike.

Here at Bangalore cops do not stop you for document verification. If they do, you can say you are here for the weekend and show some fuel receipts as proof. I am not sure if your financier can retain the originals. But if that is the case then carry the photocopies and everything else in original. Shouldn't be a problem. The only place where they could stop you is at the border. I have seen it hardly happen during day time. So just ride and have fun.

Thanks for the info buddy I had the Rc with me itself during the entire load period. But had heard lot of instances like this.Had thought this might differ with the different company policies

@Harish : Once cops see a vehicle from a different state ( no matter whichever is your home state and whichever state you were travelling to ) , their eyes lit up even if you have the original documents

Bro I am from TN only. I ride here to office and back everyday. I frequently come to Krishnagiri McD on my bike and back. On weekends I ride inside the city. All in a TN registered bike. I was stopped only once in the past 8 months and that too when I took my bike back home from the station. I showed them the transport slip on train that I am coming just now along with all the papers' photocopies. They let me go without any fuss. There are a lot of TN registered vehicles here. So cops wont be really interested unless you are breaking some rule.

I am not denying it buddy. If you are on a tour and badluck if you are caught, is annoying

^^^ Seriously annoys. Especially some cops will tell you things like 'I need to have lunch'. So pay up. It happened to me once near my native place.
