I guess it just has to do with strong neck muscles.

Also if i cant do 100kmph in a P220, what are my chances of doing more speed if i get a faster bike.

I suppose this thread will help novice tourers.
Oh cmon bro get a bike that can do it keeping you comfy. Don't limit yourself, short blasts you are as good as anyone you can take a super-bike and hit top speeds. If you wanna tour, get a better kitted bike. You don't lack strong neck muscles, we all do. While we suffer with it, you wanna know if you can over come it. I don't think so, may be get a space suit? :P That could work.. lolz.. just kidding by the way
Been obsessed with momentum ever since i was born, but 0 - 200kmph took 30yrs! This will do for now!

The P220 wind screen is to blame which hits a high pressure stream just below the hellmate on the chest (ideally it should stream the wind above the hellmate).

I ride a P220 too, and used to have neck pain earlier. Easiest solution is to exercise the neck muscles and increase their core strength... it worked for me. I absolutely never crouch. Let me know if you want me to describe the exercises.

I ride fast @100+ and long distances.. now there is negligible pain at the end of the day.

I also bought an expensive (read phoren) hellmate, which totally made a difference .. weight is only secondary (after all there are carbon fiber helmates like Schubert weighing 800grams)... the design, shape and dynamics are way to important.

Today i rode a ninja 250r and my p220 back to back and figured out the problem. Just as aditya said, its the p220s windshield to blame ! I could comfortably do 140kmph on the ninja with no need for any ducking cause the wind shield diverts the wind almost above the helmet while the P220 wind shield diverts the wind right at your neck. even at 120kmph the P220 was too much to handle compared to the ninja. crouching doesnt help much simply because of the faulty windshield design ! its basically like riding a naked bike.
