  • tvs ABS or Bosch ABS

hi guys, i own a honda dazzler. it has disc brakes both in the front and back. Twice i had to panic break and my disc locked. as it was rainy season my bike skid and i fell down. so i am planning to get a HECU abs system installed on my bike. i contacted a bike modifier and he gave me an estimate of 4-6k for the abs system which comes with rtr 180. I heard that Bosch is also marketing a ABS system which comes for the same price. please suggest me which one is better?
He also told me that an on off switch can also be installed for the tvs system..... Please Help me.

I'm also interested in getting an ABS system installed, could you please share the details of the mechanic?

Please don't do juggad on something as critical as braking. If the system fails, you will be left with no brakes. If you want ABS, just go ahead and buy that bike.

yaaa i completely agree with him, don't mess with the brakes even i was thinking of getting a rear disk install on my fz but then the same thing come in my mind. just think how disasters can be a break failure on a high speed or even at a speed of 60 to 70 can be

Dont panic brake even in paniced conditions.. Use 'set-up and squeez' technique for braking, helps prevent wheel lock to a huge margin.
And playing with ECU kind of sophisticated things can be very risky

but even the disc on the front and back are risky...... there may be emergency braking situations....... and the kit by bosch is made for bikes...... I request the experts in XBHP to help me . it is almost a nightmare to drive in wet roads. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

^^^ Buddy, ABS is not as simple as it sounds, if it were, then wouldn't there be a AM for every car sold from 1930's? Its a complex algorithm that depends on real time situation. Just buy a ride that has manufacturer spec ABS or just learn how to brake. Period!!!

                      @ aargee

i even tried that. But when i asked tvs person for an exchange offer to get a APACHE abs he told me that i would only get about 40-45k for my bike which is 8 months and 4700kms old. so i would have to shell down an extra 40k. being a student, i had a lot of trouble getting my first bike itself.........

Hi bro... even for me, my A180 is the first bike... i dont can understand that it is not a reasonable thing to buy a new bike... that too a costly one which gives less mileage and has some issues :P

I had a huuuge problem with braking in the beginning, and let me tell you, my tyres are known to be one of the worst tyres possible on wet/gravel surfaces...
But i read various guides on various web-sites... including x-bhp... and also saw some videos on youtube(which were not very informative)... and now i break very confidently... so what i suggest you is...
DO NOT GO FOR TVS/BOSCH ABS Systems... especially TVS
they dont work properly on TVS bikes without proper maintenance...
Learn how to break... about 100 million people are riding bikes without ABS, even you can
Read some Articles on braking, other people please suggest this guy some good articles

Then there's a simple way; ride a little less speeds on wet surfaces + learn, learn & learn effective braking techniques when riding on wet surfaces. That way you don't have to shell any money...including buying an ABS
