  • How to upgrade my CD dawns front shockabsorbers and Headlights

    hello,
I have a Cd dawn 2004 model, Its a god average bike , but I feel the front shockabsorbers are not quite upto the mark where u can travel some indian bumpy roads even in my Citys (Jamshedpur) NH 33 highway as it too bumpy and uneven road quality,it lets my bikes instrument cluster shiver like mad on the jerks, so I want to change the shock absorbers ,I asked to hh guys they say Passion plus and splendors all have same shockabsorbers front, is it so , and if so then where can i get different shock absorber suited for good handling as well good damping quality, and also Can i get a LED light fitted in my round headlight for good night vision(does the LEDS fit everybike headlight cluster). Please help AS I am novice in bike modification

LEDs are not fully capable of replace headlights. Hence the emphasis on HID for better illumination.

What you can do is replace the fork oil with a thicker grade of oil, like gear oil or engine oil. It will make the ride stiffer, but will ensure that the front does not dive as much. Also you can replace the front fork springs with newer ones.

Change fork oil and check for any change, still no change, then get the springs replaced,it will show some improvements. Also using thicker oil will make the ride bumpy i guess.

That doesnt seems to be a good idea,IMO HID is an over kill.

How much your bike has clocked? And when you last changed the fork oil & got checked the coil spring?
Btw, I'm too thinking of using current HH engine oil as my fork oil..

thanks all for yours efforts, but I wanted the shock to be more comfortable and still have a good control of the bike (means a god balance), by the way I dont know if the HH service guys have lubricated the forks or not, but i m- yself have not done it, and after all the bike has riden very less you may laugh only 9500 Kms. bu the way the bike spare parts delaer here in my city say HId need at least a self start bikes battery like 5L atleast and the HID set will cost Rs 1200 Also the housing it on a smaller headlight like mine will be problem they say.So please help me atleast on the headlight side ,as the shocks I have to see myself through the springs condition.
            Thanks by the way

Dont go for cheap Chinese HIDs they won't last. And yes you'll be needing at least 5Ah battery, full DC conversion & coil rewinding.
And also running HID only is illegal so there's the need of a projector too.
And for shocks.. What do you really want, spongy or stiff kind of??
According to me, little stiff on bad road is good because shocker won't get bottomed out every now & then.
