  • Unicorn front tyre wobbles

    hi all,

i am facing a new problem... from past few days the front tyre of my Unicorn wobbles a lot when i am at speed of around 40-60 kmph.. i get a feeling that it will skid off the road..
i literally have to bring my bike to stand still position & start riding again...

i had my bike serviced last saturday.. when i told the mechanic guy over there he made me install new bearing in the rear mack wheel.. but it didnt solve the problem
then again i went to the service centre on monday.. he said that its because of the handle being tight.. & the mack has a small bent.. he then loosened up the handle.. but that too didnt solve the problem
again today i went to the service centre.. there was a mechanic who said that axle has a problem.. it had developed a bent.. he said that using the same axle in reversed position will solve the problem.. but that too didnt help..

i am stuck... please help guys.. what can be the problem - disc plate being bent, or mack having a bent or the axle..??

    please help..

Mack?? You mean the alloywheel? Discplate wobble wont create wobbles, alloy wheel bend can make wobbles, put the bike in middle stand ans run the front tire freely and chekc for bends, also remove and inspect the axle for any damages.

Obviously it wouldn't the issue lies in the wheel & how will loosening the handle bar resolve the issue?

Get your alloy wheel balanced; then check for alignment with the rear wheel. You'll come to know if the bent can be straightened or balancing can be fixed.

never go to svc center man, they'll only loot you. Go to a regular well known mechanic, these guys have killer experience SVC only have newbie mechanics.

yep, the axle has a small bend/crack... but the guy from service center used the same axle in reverse.. (i mean ulta ).. saying that now it will run fine...

try changing the axle, was there any accident on the bike which caused this?

The problem with my unicorn is also similar.....in my case my front tyre wobbles 60% times whenever i passes any speedbraker or a potholes.....i am facing this from last 15000 kms and this thing is automatically treated after 100 meters. Also if i stop the bike and turns the complete handle bar in both left and then right direction......this problem is soughed out.......tried lots of times to conquer this problem but didn't work.

now this guy told me that the axle is not bent & there was some minor setting that needed to be adjusted.. which he did post which the bike seems to be running fine.. only at low speeds.. it still tends to wobble..? is it in any way related to changing the front disc pads..?

Just replace it bro.No adjustents with axle, and diskpads have no connection with wobbling.
