  • Caliber115 not awaking from sleep

My trusty steed caliber115 was lying idle for 10-11 days, as I was out of town for Diwali. Yesterday, I spent 1/2 hour kicking life in her, she wouldn't respond. Today, I took her to a mech. He is now working on her. He said there is no current coming, he cleaned the CDI unit and all. He was going to see the stator coil, whether there is any rust, and whether the bike starts after cleaning it. Said he will first check using multimeter, and then tell me whether it is workable or should I replace the unit.

The question is, if at all there is a problem in the stator coil, then

    1. Should I go for new stator plate, or get it rewound (I have yearned for a long time to get it rewound, so this will be a good time). If I am to get it new, should I stick to the stock one, or can I use Discover 125's one, as it produces enough current to power 60W bulb?

    2. If he is somehow able to make the plate work, should I go about changing it nonetheless? Is there a probability that it will fail again soon?

    3. What other reasons could be there, if the stator plate is alright. I don't want to get fooled by him, coz this mech was selected just based on his location (nearest to office).

    Requesting your feedback.

Answering my own queries, as none responded

The problem was not in the stator plate. CDI unit needed to be changed. New CDI unit replacement = 407Rs. After getting the bike and riding it for 100kms tour, I noticed small petrol leak. Turned out to be leaky petrol pipe, changed it for 5Rs, and now my steed is up and running.

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
