  • Help required for TVS Apache E Surge 150

    Hi Guys,
I purchased a TVS Apache E Surge(April 2006) model from a person. Who claimed that bike has run only 20000km(even the odometer showed same).Guy asked to 30000rs I agreed to purchase the bike at 27000rs and thought it would not take more than 2000rs to get serviced and it was pune registered bike MH12. So total was around 30000rs what i expected and gave him 18000rs at 1st day.
It took me 2 day to get the whole bike serviced and more than 5000rs as everything has been changed on bike apart from engine and body. every cable and panel, starter, disc pad everything has been purchased new and installed. I went to office that is about 20km and while coming back to office after 10km bike stopped as if was petrol was over. I filled the tank upto top and problem still existed. I tried kick an self star but bike is not ready to start. Please suggest me how much i should pay to this guy overall and what is the procedure to purchase bike from pune and transfer it to mumbai. Also what are the documents required by both the parties, what are the step by step procedures.I stay in Mumbai.
    Thank you,
    Mukesh Tiwari

Bike stopping suddenly in spite of fuel in the tank might mean that it's got air locked. You just need to kick it for a while and it should start normally. However, Do check the Spark plug, air filter and get the carburetor cleaned. And the price is a little on the higher side.

Thank you guru, I got the bike checked from a local mechanic and problem was with carb. He cleaned the carb and bike came to life.

as u have spent more than 5000 on engine, that means, the odo meter reading is false,or he may have ripped the bike 2 much, which would have worn out the Piston....pay him 25000 at max...not more than that....

Paid the guy 25900rs and engine is good, but i think i was too tempted to own the bike as soon as i saw it and spent so much of money. But until it is working good i am happy to ride.
