  • Help me with Unicorn mods

    Hello, friends,
I have a 2008 model Honda Unicorn black coloured. Now the bike is looking dull with scraches and colour fading...
    1) I would like to have it repainted. Can you guys suggest a good colour scheme for the bike, say (red for the tank, black elsewhere...)...
    2) I would like to know which one looks cool and superb, a round headlight (like that of the Enfield Thunderbird) or installing a projector assembly in the stock design ?
(If round light is good, suggets me one)....
    3) I would like to add a digital speedometer.
    4) The bike's mileage is nearly 30 km...What can it be done to improve the mileage ?
    5) The pwerfomance like pulling and speed factor also not good....

Suggest some performance mods and looks...
Suggest guys, on what to do ?

1)Paint i personally like the stock colours itself, i don't lik doing dual colours on my bike, but i did see a neat looking pearl white unicorn with black engine and alloys.
      2) projectors on unicorn is not very useful, u can go for a round headlight, as far as i know the new boxer 150's round headlight is the biggest
      3) digi speedometer the ones i like is the Apache 180's and the gs150r's u can check them out
      4) and 5) mileage and performance try changing the Air filter, check your bike's carb tuning
Good luck with your mod work and please post before and after pics

          A few more doubts....

          Hello Xbhpians,
I need an expert advide in doing a few mods in my Honda Unicorn. Expert advices are welcome.

          1) I would like to install a digital speedometer. As Honda is not producing digital speedometers for Unicorn, I though of installing the ones of CBZ extreme, TVS GS150R, Pulsar or that of Apache.
I came to understand that The length from the center bolt to the edge of the tyre in both Unicorn and CBZ Extreme is 11.5 inches, and that from the center bolt to the edge of the alloy rim is 9.5 inches. Since, CBZ extreme now available in the market is having digital speedometer, can I install that in Unicorn ?

          2) Does anyone know, whether Honda is going to produce digital speedometer for Unicorn in the near future?

          3) If I plan to install digital speedometer of Pulsar or any other bikes, how about the connections....How about the connections for fuel gauge, rpm meter, etc. Are the inputes for these same as those for the analog devices?

          4) Now, regarding chain cover, My chain cover has started rusting. So, I plan to change it. What is your opinion about using chain covers like the one used in FZ or Honda Stuner? Will this perform well ? Or, is mud going to accumulate in chain?

Further doubts will be posted as I come across...

Why not the Unicorn Dazzler's digital Speedo?? Despite being super cool you still can maintain Brand Image of Honda rather than different parts from different bikes

I'm sure no one here knows...that.

Almost the same just that few things has to be changed with terms to fuel tank float & stuff. The Tacho out will directly from the CDI as it's not a Mechanically driven one.

Depends on what you're intended to use for. If Touring is ur main concern, I would go with a closed chain cover, else you can go for open one. But again, open cover requires more maintenance than the closed ones..
