  • ZMR Paint??

    Hey guys.

I have been following the website very thoroughly and I must say people here are very helpful and very cooperative when it comes to issues with bikes..

I just need to know a small thing.. about the paint of my ZMR..

I own a White ZMR bought in August 2010 however the paint isn't as white as it was in the first week. The paint has gone too pale and it's only on the fiber part... My bike is covered most of the times but in sunlight too at times.... And the color started changing right after the first week of purchase.

I clean my bike everyday, and get it washed once in a month (that's cause I dont get much time on weekends to sit at home and on weekdays... office!! )

so all in short, can anyone suggest if I should go for getting the bike re-painted or touch up as it is said or should I get the body spares changed ( which will def put a big hole in my pocket )

    Please suggest me guys....
    PEACE!!!!\/

    RESPECT!!!!

Changing body will get you bike look good for short term, it'll look pale again if you don't take proper care of her.
      Advice: Get Bike cover

And Avoid parking bike exposed to Sunlight as much as possible.

Color fading away after only one week of purchase is very surprising. Please discuss with the folks at service centre.

My white ZMR is 1 yr 5 months old, parked in scorching sun, torrential rain, seen all types of weather, I don't see any color fade. I remember the booking slip in which the color was mentioned as 'Fadeless White' (or something like that).

thanks man however i do use cover on the bike... one more thing I would like to mention here is that when I bought it, the first week, bike was at a friends place cause I went to Hemkund Sahib with family and it rained here like anything last year... Bike was completely uncovered for the entire week with full on rain. Could that be a reason for the color to get pale????

            thanks for the reply man..

I use Turtle Wax to keep bike shining after wash... Umm... the main difference can be noticed between the tank color and the fiber plastic part of the bike... The tank is completely white as the original color but the fiber part is pale...

hey guys... I am sorry for the long delay... couldn't get time to reply here..

I have two pics here which might be able to explain the color difference

              Here's first one...

and second one in night time...

the difference that is coming is as you can notice in the Tank and the fibre part...

The tank is white as ever whereas the fibre has gone pale...

              please suggest guys...

Suggest you cold try the 3M car care products. Don't think its only for cars, they do bikes as well. Detailing and repair works.

They have a great facility in Bangalore where everything is done under the roof. Locate a similar store in around NCR and you should be able to solve the problem. Not a big hit on the pocket and the work done is worth it.

a simple Teflon coating was enough for my white ZMR over a period of 1 & a half yrs..paint on ZMR is of great quality & is among the best in its class..may be it got exposed too much in sunlight & pollution which caused this..& if you'll repaint it then you won't get insurance on those parts whenever you'll require it..so just polishing will be a nicer idea..later you can change parts when required..

                    Why? How repainting voids warranty?

Don't know but Teflon coating enhances the yellowish-ness on the fiber
Pollution could be possible as Gurgaon has no roads and loads of dust...
And how will repainting violate the insurance?????

Try using things in these sequence :

                        3M > Teflon

3M > Formula 1 Polish (If you're not comfortable with Teflon).

If you're cleaning the bike with dry cloth everyday, stop doing it. Use wet cloth instead (When you use dry cloth to wipe dust, it can make small scratches)
