  • Fuel Problem-Yamaha FZ-S

Members I am new to the community I would like some advice or help of any sort for the problem i am facing with my Yamaha FZ-S.
My Bike sometimes just loses its power when I throttle it and then comes to a halt and then when I try to Switch it On with Electric Start Or Kick Start It Just doesnt start. Now when I adjust the fuel cork to reserve the bike starts and Runs Fine.Point here is that the fuel is still there in my tank. In fact on One Ocassion I filled my bike and then After some odd 15-20 km the same problem occured.

This problem is really getting to my nerves need some help on this one

There will be a small hole somewhere on your fuel-cap which is a pressure equalizing valve . This may have become blocked with dirt . The classic symptom of this is the bike stops like it has no fuel and cannot be started until the fuel cap is opened & closed again .Have your Yamaha ASC service check and clean it . Also check the fuel petcock , fuel-strainer inside the tank and the air-filter for blockages .

Yes , that on-off-reserve tendu below the tank is the petcock valve . You've to take it out to access the strainer inside it .... etc etc . But I think you'd best leave all this work with the yamaha service center people , just tell them your problem and what you want done . This is a common problem and they know all about it .
