    Found the problem

    Finally i got to know what is the problem in my bike that gives out a wierd clattering sound ! yamaha service people told me that it s a valve noise that arises due to incorrect valve clearance ! i asked them to reset it ! but they told me they could not open up the engine of a new bike which had just run 3k kms ! i compelled them for servicing but still they told me the company would question them if they do so !! They told me it s not a big issue right now and they asked me to bring the bike after 5k kms ..... under observations i found that the noise arises after a long run not at start up in the morning !! it vanishes some times and re appears soon . .... i donno wat to do and am afraid will there be any adverse effects on the engine cuz of this problem !!

        I get the knocking when I revv above 6krpm...

        I've too been facing the knocking issue with my R15 v2 from couple of day after I got the K&N installed. It quite annoying and is only occurs when I revv exactly above 6k RPM. I can't Ignore it as I love my bike and has never been sounded so ill as it does now while revving it..What can be the reason for this sudden knocking sound.. The installer said that its normal (It doesn't seem to me). I ask one more mechanic, he said its engine knocking, you need to tune the ECU for proper flow of fuel... I showed it at Yamaha, the tester there said it might be coming from the chain, but not a proper reason he could find. One more friend of mine got it installed K&N the same day and same place... And guess what, same thing happens in his bike as well when I test drove it... Can anyone throw any lights on the issue I've been facing.

          Couple of questions to you in this regard;
          1. Why have you installed K&N? (Exact reason pls.)
          2. Are you aware of FI system functions? (If yes, you should be able to resolve the issue, If not try googling Open & closed loop FI systems)
          3. Knocking generally occurs, when you're on the leaner side. Forgetting the fact that you're running leaner will get a good set of new piston & rings for you. Do you want that now?
          4. Why didn't you get the YASS "Tester" a drink and ask him how the hell did he actually become one??

          On a serious note, just chuck the K&N & revert back to stock & see the problems vanish like a Miracle....

              My v2 has done just above 1500kms. Some kind of engine knocking sound arises between 5k and 6k rpm and vanishes below 5k and above 6k. What can be the issue?
