  • Access 125 engine shut off while running

My cousin has an Access 125. He's told me that the scooter, if not given acceleration for sometime, will automatically shut off and he will have to start it again with the self start. Sometimes the self start doesn't work and he will have to put it on center stand and start it via kick on the roadside.

I took his scooter for a run yesterday, and the scooter shut down thrice on the road. Thankfully, it started with the self start. Only when I give constant acceleration it won't shut down.

Also he has to start it via kick everytime he starts it at first. He had taken it to a mechanic and was told that battery wasn't the problem. It's run some 13.5k kilometers and its two years old. He's planning to buy a Twister this Jan.

      Increase the idling speed, simple.

its rather funny that the mechanc did not do the idle setting....

eitherways, take the scoot to the authorised service center and ask them to increase the idle setting....
basically in layman language, you keep the carb a bit open so that the min fuel and air flow reaches the engine all the time...

also, remember, since your scoot will be stock, its idle is set at warmed up condition. if you use it for very short distances, the engine does not heat up much to attain the warmed temp and hence will shut down no matter what you do.

solution? either keep the engine running for 1 min on main stand and then ride (so that when you ride, the engine remains warm) or set a higher idle (but this also causes high revs when engine is warmed and low fuel economy)

          Hope this helps
