scratches on new r15 v2.0's left cowl

    scratches on new r15 v2.0's left cowl

    hey guys,i had parked my bike at a tight parking lot cause it has no center stand, it got scratched with the other bike and now the sticker on left fairing has scratches and the plastic cowl too has many noticeable scratches ..i wanna know is there any way to fix it..more like a polish or scratch remover..or repaint the surface?? help needed and thanks...

      Have'nt you heard. Scars make a man, every man's supposed to have his scars of experience, do why hide it.

      LOL, seriously, just wash the bike and make sure all the dirt from the scratches are removed, then apply a thick coat of wax, most preferably 3M Yellow Wax.

        lol.. its not abt the scratch am worried abt.. its my damn friends, will start teasing me... scratches on bike not even 2weks old .. and thanks for brave scars make a man

          If the scratches are deep then only way to remove it is by using a rubbing compound. This will remove a layer of clearcoat and paint so not advisable unless the scratches are deep and ugly.

          If the damage is on the surface and is light, a good coat of wax polish and detailing would help in making the scratches lighter but dont expect it to vanish. Formula1 has a scratch remover and i am sure other brands also do. But the Formula1 thingy DOES NOT work so dont waste money. Why dont you cover the damage with stickers/vinyl if you have no option?

            yeah dude f1 does nothing..good thing i dint buy it, just borrowed...and those guys at Yamaha services station say that the stickers would come along with cowl, not to be sold loose it seems ,i could have vinyled if the scratches were in proper shape,but..here and there indefinite proportion
