  • Battery problem of R15

My R15 is 1 n half years old and already the battery has gone dead twice in the past 2 months. I have been using bike daily. Except for few LED strips, I haven't installed anything extra which could draw more power. I believe LED strips also wont draw much power either. What may be the cause for this early discharge of battery? I was provided with MINDA battery. Do i need to change the battery? If so, which is better for R15?

you must've been using your headlights while your engine is off. Since its been 1.5yrs it would be better if you change your battery. If possible fit a 5Ah battery.
Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

As you said nothing extra except the led strips , then the problem may be insufficient charging voltage , current , check for it at ASC .

If you're riding mostly at below 4k rpm or so, then go have a good blast for 20 minutes keeping the revs up at 6k rpm or above, this will give your battery a good charge, my bike is still on the same battery after 3 years, goes a little weak when riding in traffic or with a pillion, due to riding at lower rpm's, night riding with headlights on in these scenarios drains the battery a bit.

I have never switched on light while engine is switched off. I can fit a 5Ah battery but the charging wont be sufficient as the mechanism is meant for recharging 3.5Ah battery.

Last time when battery was dead, did the same as you told. It became alright temporarily. Got it recharged at ASC also. But it has happened again. Which brand of battery was provided in your bike?

Battery problem fixed. The culprit was a little loose +ve terminal screw. Went to get battery checked at ASC. The mechanic jus turned the screw by half a turn and my prob was fixed. Didnt have a single problem till now. Did'nt know that even such a small detail could do so much damage. I learnt my lesson. For other r15 riders who experience battery problem, first tighten the screws by using a 8mm T-rod or a spanner before going to the ASC.
