  • 4 day old Yamaha FZ-S engine failure

I bought Yamaha fz s on sunday 15 jan and rode it for 100Kms till 18 Jan. when i started the bike on 19th, it was smooth for the first 100 meters but then the engine stopped working. all efforts to start the bike were useless.
I went to the dealer and then to the service station, but the bike wont start . they are keeping the bike there and said their engineer will look at it.

Please advice what needs to be done in this case. I have put all my hard earned money in that bike and cant afford any losses right now.

seems to be some sort of problem either electrical or mechanical nature. Don't sweat it. your bike comes with 2 years yamaha warranty. so they will either replace your bike with a new one or troubleshoot the problem and give you back the bike. Incase the dealer takes too long to sort it out, you can always write a complaint to the yamaha back office. the details can be found at yamaha india website. they are quite prompt with the response.

      cheers

Check with the service guys what is the problem..... did you notice any engine oil like?? did you check the oil level in the bike when it stopped??

        L)

After you know what is the problem write to Yamaha motors. You will get a better response.

i really hope its just a minor electric problem. But frankly one would expect better quality control from Yamaha.
@CultOfTheDeadCow: Sit on top of the dealer and get the work done ASAP. Talk with service head / manager whoever it takes to get them to work.

Title is completely misleading; the bike only ceased to work that may or may not be result of engine seizure.

                  Did you try kick-starting ?
Was there any petrol in bike ?

It may be a problem related to ignition system.

now new model of fzs and fz16 comes with a kicker. even if there is no kicker in your bike you can just put it in second gear and grab the clutch leaver, push the bike for a fit and live the clutch leaver the bike will start, works for me for my fz and my pulsar on a cold day
