  • Fazer rough idling

    Hello
I have a 8 months old Fazer, 13010 Km on the odo.
I have had vibe issues earlier but were fixed with valve clearance adjustments 2k km back.
Recently I have been noticing startup issues, rough idling and a very rough ride.
The engine oil is Yamalube ss, changed 700 km back and is good. Air filter is clean, chain spocket set is a little dry but changed 1K km back...
    Any pointers??

      Thanks Noor.
Another point to add to the list, I feel that the bike knocks, thats the feeling I get, its not the lugging at low speed high gears. I shift at 4k rpm usually....

Valve clearance check has to be done as part of regular service, which IMO no service center does unless stressed.
Did you also change the spark plug & air filter during your 12k kms service? If not, it may help your startup issues & others. Also, I would recommend lubing your chain regularly once in every 300kms or whenever it accumulates more dirt (it's the cost & pain we have to bear for choosing open chained bike ) for a smoother ride.

As a preliminary step, I would suggest you to try another fuel bunk and to stick to Unleaded fuel (normal).

I am running a 1200 km old air filter, Cleaned 100 km back, Speed 97, 700 km old oil filter and oil.. I can have my mech recheck the valve clearance again.
I usually lube my chain myself, but I met with a small accident 2 weeks back and hence have not had the time to do it. The trip to the SVC will help that too.
