  • 350cc to 500cc

    Hi,

    I own a 2005 bullet electra 5s 350cc.

This question is for all bullet guru's can i replace the 350cc with the 500cc engine.
i.e i will be replacing only the head and piston all the remaining will be the same like gear box, tappets, tappet rods.

will the head be a direct fit or do i need some modifications.

    Thanks
    vamsi

      Hey buddy!

You will have to change more things than that, because even though the basic design is the same, there are certain differences that are to be taken care of. The crankcase of a 350cc cannot accomodate the crank of a 500cc without any modifications, basically the crankcase will be lathed ( if you understand what i mean).

Also, the big end bearing, the roller bearings are all different on a 500cc, the ones on the 350 will not suffice, plus the carburettor will have to be changed, to atleast the stock VM28.

Apart from the cylinder kit & head, you will have to spend close to 10K.

      Take care.

I have been toying with this since long.

        Possible but not recommended.

Selling off your bike and getting a 500 will be cheaper and reliable
