Word of caution

One word of caution before you get the paint job;
#1 - Stick to the color that is printed on your RC book; no hassles
#2 - If you change the color to the one that is printed other than on your RC, get the specific color endorsed in the RC book through RTO as it becomes a headache if you were checked & the insurance companies dislikes it.

Go for a metalic green and metalic black if its in budget. My friend did it and its superb.

Which company paints should be used?
The local painters use paints which are not from known companies like Asian, Nerolac, Berger etc.
What paints are recommended for automotives?
what is DU-Pont? Is it from berger?

Anyone know which kind of paint is used for exhaust cover ? Is there any burn protection layer also spreaded on it ? Local painter's don't have any idea & saying if they paint it with normal automobile color it will burn in a week or 2 depending on heating making exhaust cover to look odd .

I think it is powder coated.
Not sure though.

I had re-painted the muffler heat shield and the paint flaked and fell off.
Got a new one for Rs.75/-

Before you consider repainting , check from nearby honda showroom what the whole set of external painted panels that make up the body of the scooter costs . And make a list of what can be salvaged from your original set . Than total the cost . Sometimes it may work out just a little bit more(or less) than a good professional repaint job , and a new set of parts would certainly fit and look better and last longer than any repainting with lots less trouble . If you have the enthusiasm(like many of us here ) you can even try to paint the parts yourself by hand like this guy did Rickwrench, Alfa GTV, Falcon Squire, Corvair

Dupont is a top of line paint manufacturer . Their Y2K paints with an etching-primer , colour layers and a gloss top(clear) coat is used by most auto manufacturers here .You can use this paint system too, it is easily available here , and easy to apply with spray-on airbrush . Heat is used to remove old normal paints from metal , so obviously they will burn/chip-off from hot surfaces .Heat resistant paints are available both in tin-can and aerosol spray cans from automotive-paints shop for painting of engine case & exhaust pipes for this specific purpose . Cheapest heat-resistant paints are the black ones sold for painting outdoor barbecue stoves , works well on exhaust pipes too !

is metallic green paint in spray bottle available?

well most changable parts are the back engine dome ,headlight cover , front pannels .. right ?

any idea about self painting a honda activa ... well however a sprayer is required , lot of time and ideas right ?
i thought of getting my activa on the RC colour and sticker it with red ..

Sprayer ( air-brush ) is good if you get it but not necessary .. that is why i gave you those links , many people have done it with foam paint rollers with excellent results , follow those links and read about it by googling. In painting preparation is 90% of the work . Yes time and patience is necessary for any DIY job , but the satisfaction and result is priceless .

Honda activa owners and your Honda dealers would be able to provide you the costs involved etc . Jot down all the info and then make a plan .
Never mind asking questions , most of the things I have learned is from the dumb questions I had asked around here .... lots of very knowledgeable members here always here to help and reply always . I am learning new things myself everyday here by pestering all .
