    New Unicorn - engine overheat

    Hi,

    I just got my new Unicorn CB from Honda dealer in Hyderabad. I drove back home around 15 kms at a max speed of 40 kms in city evening traffic.

    But I somehow felt that the engine is becoming too hot after around 8-9 kms. I could feel the heat of engine on my foot. I have a Calliber 115 but I don't remember feeling the heat anytime until touched.

    I opened to check if the oil was poured while delivering. I could see colorless oil on the stick attached to the knob of engine oil compartment.

    Is this normal or should I take this back to Honda dealer tomorrow?

      A new engine has more friction than a set engine and moving components have to mesh and align, so will heat up more...If there is oil in the engine up to the dip stick Mark, and you are not exceeding the recommended Speeds and RPM for the first 500 Kms,there is nothing to worry.

        quite normal with new engines,piston rings are setting in.
        and the question remains why do i race?
        every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

        #i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
        #overkill is underrated.

        #i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
        (:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

          i am not aware about the condition of evening traffic in Hyderabad,However if your ride involved
          -riding in small gears
          -too much braking
          -accelerating
          OR
          -CITY RIDE
          Engine will Heat up and its Normal
