  • serious help needed.......regarding DC conversion

guys i know that you expert people were discussing about full DC conversion in a thread.....i am a newbie to xbhp and i went through that thread, but i am unable to understand which way to follow.....really you people are having great knowledge about electronics and bike......

coming to the point plz plz plz tell me which is the safest way to convert to FULL DC and tell me the core concept........plz guys.....you guys are my only hope.....

thankx for approving the thread ....

guys i have converted my unicorn dazzler to DC and installed the HID BI-xenon projector .....it runs fine during high reving and speed driving but in case of normal travelling battery starts to drain off.....however till now battery has not drained off bcoz i rev the bike hardly for two mins before parking the bike at night....as a result i started to have mileage issues .......although after reving before parking, sumtimes my bike's speedo will go off while starting the bike on the next day morning....it's not a healthy sign of the battery....

now guys please help me to increase the charging rate.....reply soon guys to save my ride's battery, moreover it does'nt have a kick....

Wait. First you wanted to sell the Dazzler, and now you want solutions for its DC solutions?! Make up your mind!

Also, can you please use only one full stop, and not.....so.....many..... it.... gets..... very.......... irritating.

If you could post how much Ampere is the Dazzler battery, and how old is it used, how much you use the HID lamp, better answers can be provided.

You can ask nanotechnology or drvmtm (Xbhp members) to help you further with this.

yes you can increase the charge boost by help of diodes.
you need to make a circuit with diodes.
attaching a pic displaying how to make the circuit..
the red wire goes to battery +ve terminal.
and rest two goes some were inside the red socket .
            don't know dazzler's wiring....
i built it on my rtr when i went for hid and it work fine.

hey yesterday itself i replied on that post that i am not going to sell my ride as my dad resisted and i asked sorry for that also

it's a 4ah battery, i use HID for 1 - 2 hours a day and sumtimes i go for longer rides, now the charging rate is 150w at 5Krpm.i just want to direct the light coil current to charge the battery by rectifying it.

this one was created by sam takidar of TVS Apache 150/RTR 160/eFi/ RTR 180/ABS group in facebook. i am also in that group. but this is not the right way to boost the charging. this method may have lot of side effects and leads to many problems, bcoz the current is not rectifyed and regulated.

oyea it was created by sam . and it's working fine on my apache.
                  than

why dont you go for coil rewinding. and more powerful rr. its the best option..(

i dont wanna go for coil rewinding
i want to add a RR to the light coil and feed to the battery. i dont know which RR to use or a custom made circuit. and also i want to know where to connect the wires of the new RR or the circuit...

if dazzler has same electricals as unicorn, it is not simple(using just diodes etc) to convert the current that is powering the lights. check with a multimeter and you will notice negative and strange voltage readings.
so to keep it simple, co for coil rewinding or just unfloat the ground of the original coil and use full wave RR.

Do you want to do it yourself ?
Do you have any electrical knowledge ?

                          you can opt for either:
                          1. either go for a rewinding (recommended) - open your stator, rewind with 19~18 AWG, with 12 feet per pole & use APE RR. Make sure all poles of the stator are winded in clockwise-anticlockwise fashion & all are in series. Take the two stator output wires, connect to the grey wires of APE RR & connect the APE RR output wires directly to battery.

                          2. parallel charging (not recommended, do at your own risk) - open your stator, locate the grounded end of the light coil and de-solder it. Now find the ground/-ve wire and also de-solder it.. Solder the -ve wire with the de-soldered end of the light coil. Buy a Pulsar UG4 RR & connect the light coil wire & -ve wire to the RR input & feed the RR out directly to the battery. (Estimated output of stock + UG4 RR ~ 7+ Amps)

Plz DO NOT use such methods. I've put forward my knowledge, rest is up to you. Cheers!!

is coil rewinding safe for bike's electricals??
i have somewhat knowledge regarding the bike and it's electricals but not as far as of coil rewinding
can i get it rewinded from an expert who rewinds the fan and motor coils??
how much will the whole mod costs??
