  • More low and mid torque required in pulsar 150(2005)

I have seen several threads here on increasing power of pulsars, but i need to increase torque(low and mid range) and reduce weight for comfortable driving, in other words light and torquey engine. I don't care about the top end pickup. I was thinking engine mods like pulsar135 head(4 valves ) K&N filter, front sprocket, jetting, new exhaust(currently it has a non-exhausttec one) etc. There aren't any experienced mechanics around here, so suggest simple mods, which can be done by bajaj SVC guys.

I had changed my cylinder block and piston in 2010 to that of pulsar 135 then. So i think the new head will be a perfect fit. All parts are new, as i keep it well maintained, and nothing is old and rusty. I didn't change the spokes, so its still 18 inch wheels.

Mods plz merge this thread with some other one if you feel so

        revert back to stock piston.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

instead of stock he could use 180's block.

            not feasible.

heard that it's a direct fit to 150. Even pulsar 200's block will do.

Guys, the block piston was changed by my brother, who is using it since 3 years, and the workshop guy in pune had to use 135's block & piston, as they didn't have 150 parts in stock. But i did not find any loss of power or torque after that change, so i didn't complain about it to bajaj. It has got normal torque and pickup, at par with a 7 year old pulsar model, and the silencer is also not an exhausttec one, which i think gives better mid range torque.
I want to keep the engine lightweight but still torquey and punchy? What if i put k&n, large jets and free flow exhaust, will it be better at low end rpms?
Please suggest whatever you guys think is ok, as it would be an experiment, and will be reverted back to stock if it doesn't result in desired effects!

Pulsar 135 was launched only in September 2009. So the block you are using isn't even from a Pulsar . It is either from a Discover or an XCD. More chances of it being a Discover. But I don't know how this is even possible.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

actually i don't hav any idea if 200 block will do or not.

ya, some guys have done it -->

                      180/200 block piston on 150
                      200 block piston on 180

with 220's cam shaft and things like that.
