Hey someone has done this here, dont remember whose?
Hey experts kindly throw some light.
UG3's riding posture and handling is really tiring on bad roads.
Need to change mine tooPresence of MIND and self CONFIDENCE is the primary aspect You need to be on road, not what brand your riding gears are.
If you lack these two then DONT

Re: clip-on handle bar for pulsar 150 dtsi UG3 2008
I'm using Pulsar 150 UG3 with digital meter. Are sure 150 UG4.5 kit will fit perfectly? Because the mechanic from the showroom in my area told me that, to place the clipon handle I have to change the front froks also. If DIY is possible then I'll do it my. Because there is no big deal to fit a handle. Please suggest me.Originally posted by pavanchirmade View PostThe 150 UG4.5 kit will fit perfectly.

i own Pulsar 150 UG2 which have same handle bar as that of UG3. Dont go for Clip-ons as it is pure wastage of money and fetch you nothing more extra when compared with your current setup. If you want more relaxed riding posture try to fit Discover 125/135 (Preferably old model) handle bar. I am using this setup. Riding comfort is far better than any P150 and very relaxed. The added advantage i came to know after fitting is, increased handling ability. Yes, the handling with this setup is far better than the stock setup of any P150. you have to ride to believe it. I am very much happy with my bike after fitting Discover handle bar.
I am wondering why Bajaj has not given this setup now i am using..
If you want further details msg/ give reply.

To install the 150 2 piece bar, u would need to change the fork tubes. N then install the upper t plate, bar risers and tubes from the ug 4.5 150.

Are you sure the length of Forks are different? I have seen the upper T-plate actually parts catalog says it Center holder and fork holder. I guess forks are same I have to check the length physically.

Yes, the inner tube length is different for bar type n clip on type handles. The clip on type has longer tubes to accomodate the risers.Originally posted by Sandip Mondal View PostAre you sure the length of Forks are different? Yes, the length of inner tube for Clipon Pulsar may be bigger. You can just say it looking at your Top black cover length over inner tube. It will be smaller compared to Ug4's and so on.. Dont know exactly whether the inner tube is bigger or not..!!
I dont remember exactly the part number of handle. Ask the OEM dealer to give Discover handle bar which has provision for Bar end weights (at the ends). Be sure to ask for old model 125/135. If possible remove your current handle bar and compare rising lengths with that Discover handle at the time of purchase. It will be bigger than your handle bar.
No worries.. OEM Discover handle bar is of High quality, may be even more than Hondas. Its very Rigid and has enough weight to control our bike and protect even when bike falls.
Fitting: Read completely
The handle bar fits as usual. The Disk brake setup will become somewhat short. But no problem. Pull the pipe from the provision that is holding your pipe at the front number plate and place the pipe beside it. What you are doing here is, you are letting it loose.
now fit to the handle as usual . The pipe setup looks short but will be no problem. Even if its short, do the same thing as above at the Front mudguard that is holding the pipe.
No issues will come by doing this. I am using the same.
Switches part: If you want a perfect setup and sturdy switch sets you have to do this.
Fit the handle bar as usual. The holes for holding switch sets will vary with UG3. so after fitting handle bar take your bike to a good Lathe (he should be very good) and show your switch set and ask him to drill holes exactly so that switch sets fit into them perfectly.
Donot do this before fitting the handle bar to the bike. After fitting the handle bar to the bike, finalize a riding position and fit it tight. (Also look that Accelerator cable not touching the tank when your handle is in right side)
The holes should be drilled under the handle bar when we look above the handle. You have to be careful while doing it.
The holes should be done in a way that the switch sets are exactly parallel on both sides and position wise look same when fitted. that is how they look on your UG3
If the holes positioning mismatch, your switch sets will look bad even though they fit perfectly. Looking bad means one will be up and one will down or vice-versa.
This job should not be done hurriedly.
If any doubts, reply me... haaa.. a long post

Srinivas
