  • Help regarding rejetting CBZ Xtreme after filter mod

Hi guys... I had been around a while ago asking questions about air filter modifications...

I own a CBZ Xtreme ATFT model, and I have changed the stock air-filter to K&N RC-1060. I have not upjetted yet, because of which I am facing a lot of performance issues. Whenever I climb up an incline, the engine skips a lot and it feel like I'm out of petrol.. even when my friends ride my bike, they say that there is a lot of skipping, even in normal roads. I too have faced it, but I have changed my shift timing and I now shift at around 6k rpm!

I know that this is happening because of less petrol supply and that I will have to change my main jet and pilot jet. Can anybody please tell me which size I should upgrade to? Since I have not made changes to the carburetor, everything is stock, except for the air-filter. I have read on this forum that the stock main jet size for CBZ Xtreme ATFT is 128. What should I change it to? Please help me... I am new to this...

P.S. > I have already tuned the A/F screw using the idle rpm adjustment.

Update : I have upjetted my bike. Had to replace my clutch too since the bearings had worn out. Replaced my engine oil with Castrol FS (dunno which series tho', 'coz my friend did it for me when I was in college).

Works a treat now... now thinking about changing my spark plug to NGK Iridium, what say guys?

Hi N0xious, I have recently installed a K & N filter on my CBZ Star. Can you give me some pointers on how to re-jet my carb? it is a conventional CV carburetor.

I do have to change any part inside the carb?
