  • R15 v2.0 Valve noise

My R15 v2.0 has done 5300 kms and i started to hear this strange noise after 600 kms later which i found to be valve noise ! I took it to the service center for the same problem for about 4 times and my problem is not solved ! each time i take it to the service center the chief mechanic marks "VALVE NOISE " in the job sheet ! The strangest thing is this noise does not occur always but after riding 10 kms or so ! so when the mechanic below the chief mechanic takes the bike for service they don't hear the noise and they dont try to check the valve noise !
And at the worst case they don even tune the idle rpm !
I don't know what to do with these mechanics !
I used to tell them about my problem all they tell is WHY DO YOU WANT TO OPEN UP THE ENGINE FOR A PROBLEM THAT DOESN"T EXIST AT ALL ???
Until 500kmm they said they cant open up the engine as it s a rule by yamaha and now after 5000 km they are telling me we'd adjusted the valve clearance it'll be alright !
But still I can hear it !
I can't tolerate the noise spoiling my Bike's performance and my feel to it !

Somebody please help me with this issue !
How can i make them understand the problem !

Call 1800-420-1600 , tell them when and where you purchased, your vehicle chassis number and the problem. Yamaha will resolve any issues.

P.s: I think this above line works only weekdays 9am to 4pm or something, as when I had given a call, could not reach them on Saturday.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Well, first of all, are you sure that the noise is due to the valves?
And, what kind of a noise it is? chik chik / tik tik kinda noise? Dont mind my onomatopoeia ) if yes then the first step is to adjust the tapettes rather than directly going for valves.
Under such situation, what happens is you start the bike and no noise, but when you ride it aboove 60-70 kmph speed or even if you ride it at50 for 8-10 kms, the noise starts. And if the bike the in standby for say, half an hour and again if you start the bike, no noise and the cycle repeats.
So next time you go there for servicing, make sure you ride at 70-80 kmph and there and then get the service guy to check the sound. And i would suggest you to go on a monday or a tuesday there is no rush.
If the above situation is what your facing, talk to the mechanics about the tapettes adjustment, happened the same in my hero impulse, service guys were simply awesome, adjusted the tapettes, noise gone, never returned, infact i tipped the particular mechanic too (though its against the rule)
