  • Pulser handle bar white light on my rtr180 handle

this explains it all what i want in my rtr 180(ran 11k kms...awsome performance with good mileage, boron treatment done just before 1k kms & after boron treatment in engine oil-less vibrations & around more 3-4 km/h speed @same rpm....thanks to finetuning).

Actually this is the only thing i like more in pulsers than in my white beast..
i read this D.I.Y. thread & thought that this thing can also be practically done..

please provide me with detailed guide for it
thanks in advance(& sorry for bad english)

You can have two targets: Either using Pulsar's handlebar combination or apply the internal lighting to RTR's handlebar, using LED's. I find the latter most easy if you can open it and conceal the wiring.

In either case, You may take help of this chart to decide your budget in case you go for Pulsar's headlamps:

i was wondering if a simple led inside will do the it because when i opened it there was a very hard plastic in there which i dont think will allow the light to pass...please correct me if m wrong...

i dont want to use pulser switch mob...because of the fact that it seems & feels too cheap...

Cheap??? its 2years 11 months iam using it without any problem. Why copy the idea itself when you feel the original design is cheap???

And its Pulsar and not Pulser, would appreciate if you use the correct terms

So you are just going to copy the same thing that's provided in a 'cheap' thing. Won't your priceless thing become cheap if you are inspired by a cheap thing? Or are you cheap enough to copy a cheap thing?
First get the name of your cheap inspiration correctly.

@ mods, this thread doesn't need to go any further. Its baseless fantasy of another wannabe.

m sorry guys ddn't meant to hurt you...seriously trust me...

we all know rtr 180 is nothing but a clear copy of pulsars...so i cant have any hard feelings for pulsar...because my bike looks had originated from that only...
sorry again...m taking my words back...i know no one can handle bad words for their ride...even i would have been agitated if someone said something bad for mine...

actually guys i really lyk the strength i feel when i touch that mob in my rtr...so compared to that it feels to be of something light...

n why i want that in my rtr180
its because it looks simply FABULOUS on Pulsars......a total eye catcher for me during nyt....i simply love it...i was just waiting for 1year to complete so that warranty doesn't get void....

sorry guys....please help me get this on my white beast...
soooo.....i was wondering if a simple led inside will do the it because when i opened it there was a very hard plastic in there which i dont think will allow the light to pass...please correct me if m wrong...
p.s. its my first bike...& its just 1.5 year old...

it is not possible to install pulsar switched to apache rtr. the reason is these backlit switches recieves power from BCU and the output of switches again go to BCU and BCU controls everything like headlight/indicators/ meter/ starter etc.

apache does not have BCU and you can't install pulsar BCU on apache, because wiring modification required will be mind boggling. and reliabilty will go down steeply.

only feasible option can be to open the switches, put led's inside them and cut the plastic or drill holes for light to come out.

                  to cut...mmm...

how can i cut it from inside??
do you mean to say that i should cut it to make the plastic slim so that the light could transfer??
                  if yes then how?
because there's a two layer plastic inside..(just saw it clearly from inside yesterday to think of something to....)

@prateek57: You can't install the contact-less switches found on the P150, P180 and the P220. Those require a BCU to operate. However you can go for the P135 switches. They are normal contact switches like your RTR's and don't have a BCU. Any mechanic who knows stuff and has worked on wiring harnesses of the pulsar and the Apache will be able to do it for you.

PS: I have got some tips for you, new guy.
                    1. Please use proper punctuation and case while posting. It makes the post look more matured. Refer http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/coffee-l...etiquette.html and then post. Make sure you follow all the rules. They are there for everyone's benefit.

                    2. Never comment on something which you haven't experienced or used extensively. (referring to the cheap switches part because I have used and abused a p180 for 4 years and the bike ran as good as new till I sold it last month).

Mr. Moderator you could have pointed the http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/coffee-l...etiquette.html thread out to the newbie.

First thing is- The quality of Pulsar switch gears are miles better than the RTRs. Actually our (pre 2012) RTR's switch gear were cheap and hard plastic(I had mine both changed in 2.5 yrs),while Pulsar's have a much long lasting ones(I have used both of them extensively).
I once tried to do the same, but my mech failed with P220 switch gear.now I will try it again with some other mech, after converting to DC.If it wont be possible, then I will settle for the New RTR's switchgears.

The 220 switches aren't going to work. Refer previous post. You can use the p135 switches
