  • Delhi: Chrome paint workshops

Trying to add some colour to my bike, I wanted to get my bike alloys painted to Golden Chrome!!! And I was wondering if anyone had an experience or could refer me some links/contacts of a person who could do this job in Delhi.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

i would rather recommend getting them chrome plated with a golden shade.. no paint will even come close to a properly buffed plating in reflectivity and shine.. and all you will have to do is just wipe them with a wet cloth to keep them shiny and clean..

but the only problem is with the rust !

that means the chrome plating hasnt been done properly or the eletroplating company has intentionally done it cheaply for more profit.. the very reason parts are chrome plated is to protect the metal from rusting and protect from environment, the good shine it gives is secondary.. and you are saying they are getting rusted?? all chrome needs is wiping it off with a wet cloth once in a while to keep it good and shiny.. i have my pulsar for nine years.. the exhausts, leg guard, handle bar, saree guard are all chrome plated.. and even after so many years, i only see very slight signs of rusting, on only about a 4 sq cm area which can be easily cleaned.. theres definitely some problem with your plating.. this happens if some area has remained exposed or the plating has broken off..

if maintained even lightly with regular cleaning once a week, chrome remains good for ages..

thats something i cant help you with.. i live in gujarat.. but if you wanna get chrome plated, then either go to some area in delhi, where they do all the denting and painting jobs for motorcycles.. they wont do it over there, but many of them will know where plating can be done.. or go to some industrial estate, or if you are in contact with someone who manufactures any kind of machinery, they will definitely know. because machinery manufacturers need lots of parts chrome plated for their machines like shafts, barrel screws and stuff.. i know because my uncle is into machineries..

                  damn
i used to wipe with dry cloth
and the neighbors dog used to piss on the chrome plated rims
and by the time i come down to cellar , it used to get dried and slowly slowly it got rusted
                  .
i blame my electro plating guy and even myself for not taking proper care
