please provide pointer and cost for:
    1. good mechanic.
    2. shop for Avenger Coil.
    3. which bulb to use.

If someone else is interested, can get it done together and will be able to access the bulbs which come in pair.
    Hi Nitin,

    I am prashant from Mumbai-Borivali

I have pulser (mar 2002) and i have done alteration in my bike with avenger 180 Stator plate with 60/55 w Halogen, and it was running smoothly for last 3 years without and damage to battery and wiring. You can go for same change which cost you Rs. 550/- for Stator plate and Rs. 80/- for Halogen. Just change stator plate and Bulb.

Any machanic can do these change for you.
    1. Open magnet side cover
    2. remove oem Stator plate
    3. replace with new avenger 180 stator plate
    4. connect connector
    5. replace Halogen 60/55 W.
(There is no need of replacing RR unit)

    Enjoy night riding

    Regards

    Prashant Mhatre

      Regarding Pulsar 150 UG4

      Hi
I was looking forward to installing 55/60w Halogen in my Pulsar 150 UG4.
I want to know if this mod ( Stator plate + bulb) can be done in my bike s it is Full DC?? Can the 55/60w bulb be fitted directly??

The pulsar UG4 is a full Dc bike.
AFAIK,the coil generates 50w max so why not consider a 35watt HID with projector(4300K temperature kit)
Though it costs more,it gives illumination of a 100/90.

I read in some other thread that 55/60w bulb can be fitted directly to UG4. I do not want to go for the HID as I, being a student, is more concerned about the Cost factor..

By the way what would be the cost for 35w HID + projector setup??(Jus curious..)

it cant be done because Avy has CDI ignition & you have a TCI ignition...
You can rather plug in a 55/60w & checkout with a multimeter if the battery is draining while you're at a decent RPM, report back your observation & we'll guide you.

HID + projector costs around 2500 bucks

              Thanx.. That would be good..
Should I check for the drain at the battery or someplace else??
Does replacing Pilot lamps with LEDs make any difference???

                1. open the battery +ve terminal
                2. connect the red multimeter wire to the wire that was disconnected from the battery
                3. connect the black multimeter wire directly to the battery +ve terminal
                4. start the bike & rev to above 3000 RPM & check the multimeter reading, if it >=5A, then you can use a 55/60w h/l without issues other wise your battery will be draining, also note the RPM where the charging rate >=5A.

                report back

The Ug4 pulsar's RR can push Maximum 5 amps(AFAIK) which is equal to 65 watts.

So if 55watt bulb is used only 10 watt is left to power up pilot lamps, rear brake lights, instrument cluster,TCI ign. etc..that too at max Rpm's which is not enough.

So,as per my calculations there will be battery drain so charging rates must be improved to prevent battery drain.

How do you improve charging rates ?
Well, there are several threads on this site check them out .

Pulsar owners Can definitely help you better than me.

Pls confirm if you have a ug4

                      @ abhinavsri01
                      Pls confirm

Are you sure you have a UG4 pulsar ? but according to you post
                      http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...tml#post733569 you have a 2008 pulsar
FYI,UG4 was released in April 2009
So I am sure you have a UG3 with AC/dc electricals so Avy coil is a direct fit and you can use 55watt bulb after upgrading the stator coils.
