Silencer for pulsar 150 UG2
I have pulsar 150 UG2 and its silencer has gone kaput , so was thinking of going for a new silencer. The problem is ,I can't get the chrome finished silencer but getting the black paint finished silencer .So I was thinking can i put the silencer of pulsar 220 on it.I know it will effect its performance and economy ,so the question is by how much . Is it advisable to put pulsar 220 silencer on my bike or should i hunt more for the stock silencer.Tags: None

Query ApprovedAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

220's muffler on 150 will surely stick out like a sore thumb som1053. Its very heavy/bulky (I tried installing it once on my UGIII with bro's 220, though there was an issue with bore screw and leg pedal). It will surely sound different, have you tried your local market for rechromed parts ?Safe riding prolongs life (bike & rider & public)

@prith thanks man for the first hand input , so it will look out of proportion. No i haven't tried local market will have to .But i have a doubt about quality of chrome silencer as they rust real fast compared to the 220/black colored silencer , do you think they have improved the quality for the old silencers ?

most welcome ... and Yes they have upgraded the new silencer to match with rough conditions. If you take a close look at the new silencer, you will see that it looks like charred metal, but that coating gives good protection to the muffler metal itself. Additionally, the silencer tends to remain in good condition unless bent or deeply scratched.
I have been through same and did change my UG II's metalic muffler to current black metal due to underbody rusting. Coating chrome parts with thin film of coconut oil/engine oil for monsoon season is the best and cheap bet. Else professional products like OKS Protective coating can also be used.
If you feel that you need to preserve bike's original look, then refurbishing and chrome plating is the way to go. But, extra-maintenance will be added to your list going forward
