  • Air Brush and Compressor..

    Hie everyone
i tried to search all over the internet for cheap airbrush and compressor but they were very expensive, i am an architecture student have to make lots of models and so on and even need to color them it takes me a lot of time to do so with normal methods..
i encountered the airbrush techniques and curious that i can use it for my work and even on my bike and helmets though will use stencils
So need some help from the people who have done this before or doing it..
what actually i need to do so and what are the accessories and where i can find them.
    thankyou.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Aerosal spray air brush are expensive and need proper cleaning after use. I dont have any idea about it. But I can tell you this, you can buy spray paint cans, available at any hardware store which sells arcylics, primers, paints. I had got one silver colour to cover my car scratches. One disadvantage with spray cans is your colour reproduction wont be what you want and combinations will be limited.. Also when spraying you must be careful not to press too hard or overspray! I have not used the can for any work on helmets or stencils.

I guess u can google for place where to buy it near to your house, or do online shopping, u can even get it from USA, spray cans may be cheaper, but shipping them must cost a lot. :s

for a cheap compressor, you can use the tyre filling portable pumps.. you should be able to source it for around 500 bucks.
since the output of the pump will be small, you can use storage pressurized tank so that you can use this for small paint jobs. - max 1200 bucks
I dont know about the air brushes, but from what i know, small models will require pencil type air brushes.

        hope this info helps

Not for air-brushing but for touch-ups or simple paint jobs try using the good old vacuum cleaners, it has 2 ports, one which sucks in air and the other that throws out air, used it in the past and works fine for minor jobs.

You could start off with that, and better if you get a second-hand one, instead of investing in anything expensive

            hie,
thanks for your valuable suggestion and they really helped me out, i tried the vacuum cleaner stuff but i didnt get proper way to control the speed i am not ranchor das chandad :P
meanwhile for my architecture models i ve been using cans but problem is that you can paint the small detailed items.
ordered a air brush from ebay but it didnt last for long cleaning and all is a mess i concluded with it after breaking its small delicate needle .
thats all with me, if any one with better idea please suggest.
Sorry for making late entry in this thread.
