Guess, its time to replace tires. But disc pads??? Change in only 15k? They are fine IMO.

Ya, he has a PM already... Waiting for his reply!

Hey, we can put a 110 at the rear, right? Michelin M45 is available in Chennai.
At least now it is. I'm getting one myself, if I don't opt for the Ceat Vertigo thingy as suggested by Ananth bhai.

Are you SURE M45 is available ?

Even my bike's front tire is leaking since a year ! About 5-8ps in 3 days ! Checked for puncture n valve leaks, found nothing. Not much bothered about it, only thing I do is religiously check tire pressure every alternate day.

Regarding rear tire , I am using 120/80-18 Sirac TL tire as TT. Have one issue for using wide tire. The tire rubs the side wall when there is a heavy pillion.

You either need to chip the chain case or remove chain case n opt for open case.

The problem is the local tyre wallas have no specific tools to check (Trust me) Most of the rim alignment services are for cars only (atleast in Delhi) & one has to approach the local shops for checking for slight bent in rims.

I had the same problem. Took it to a shop for getting the rim repaired (apparently alloys having slight bend can be repaired) but without any result. Finally, the local tyre walla put some solution against the inside tyre wall where it gets in touch with rim & since then, all is well 50 Bucks only whereas I gave 1000 to the rim guy

I suspect the same.... The side walls may have become weak.

Yup, last of the lot... Maybe only 3 M45s are left with the dealer now.
When I came to know, he'd 6. 3 got sold when I told friends.

I don't want to fiddle with the chain cover (despite it being heavy), it does its job of protecting the chain and my clothes clean during rains/while offroading!

Will go for the M45 TT if I don't get any suitable options elsewhere.
[Though I want a TL type tire.]

Hmmm, even Harish said the same thing. I need to tell this to the SVC guys tomorrow.

[Update - Sorry for the back to back threads, mods!]

Got my bike from the SVC today. The front tire's side walls had gone weak.
They put some hardening agent on the inside of the wall and put a sealant to the rim. Looks good till now.

But, the !d!ot$ replaced the DOT4 oil (which I'd got done this very Monday) with DOT3!
I shouted at the works manager but he said there's no stock of DOT4 currently and he apologized. But, I didn't understand, why the hell they touched the brakes!

The charges for the DOT3 oil (Rs 57) were deducted from my bill amount. I' to pay Rs 65 for the sealant thing and rest for oil change etc.

Which service center? Ask them to refund the money for DOT 3 when it was not a requirement. Infact, they should pour DOT 4 and give back as a customer service.

Sir, I meant that they removed/refunded the charges for DOT3. I didn't have to pay for it. Guess, it was the wrong choice of word.
I gave it to HMC Adyar Motors.

                    Hello friends,

My bike's behavior has been bothering me for a few days, but today; I was simply irritated.

The issue started (or rather I noticed) last week when I went for a 450+ km ride to the nearby hills with some Chennai xbhpians.
While braking in the hills, I had front wheel lock twice and rear once. Plus, I even suffered a wheelspin once. I was horrified literally.

Initially I thought the brakes were to be blamed or maybe it was my inexperience in the hills. But, Monday I'd a front lock again near a metro construction site.
This happened under casual braking with nobody in sight at 6 PM.

Let me give out a few pointers/facts for your convenience:-
                    1. I rarely use the rear brakes when braking casually. (this differs for sand/gravel/rains - there its 50:50::Front:Rear)
                    2. For hard/panic breaking, I downshift and follow 70:30::Front:Rear (approx)
                    3. The bike has run only 15k with those stock puny tires on the ZMR (both TL type)
                    4. Brake oil has been bled and refilled with DOT4 on Monday at the SVC.

What I have been noticing since Monday is/are:-
                    1. The front tire loses 8-10 psi in a couple of days.
                    2. Rear tire loses 5-8 psi in a week.
                    3. There are no punctures in either of the tires.
                    4. Both the tire valves are ok. (checked at the SVC - by tire valves, I mean the valves through which air is filled.)
                    5. Rims/alloys are ok. No bends.
                    6. Handle bar is ok, no bends. - I have never had a fall! (touchwood!!!)

But today, the front lost more than 8 psi in half an hour. (rechecked at the same petrol bunk in the morning after having breakfast nearby. )

                    My queries -
                    1. Have the tires, especially the "Front" given up?
                    2. Can I put a tube in the TL type tires or will I have to plonk in new tires?
                    3. Rear, I've planned for Michelin M45 tube type, what about the front?
                    4. Are there any MRF manufactured 110 section tires for the rear?
                    5. Can I put any other tire other than the stock 80/100 in the front?
                    and most important question:
                    6. Are tires really the culprit? Or something else?

I know this is a very long list but I need solutions.
                    Thanks.
For front 80/100 is the only tyre available. For rear, pls see:
                    1. MRF 110/90-18 (Tube Type). You may use TuffUp Tube with that (TuffUp Tube is available with any Heromoto Service Centre).
                    2. Ceat Vertigo Sport 120/80-18 TubeLess. You need to cut Chain Cover Slightly. This Tyre's Grip is awesome. M using the same on my ZMR since last 6 months.

Its good to know that M45 is available now. I would prefer M45 to Ceat Vertigo. You can use M45 as a Tubeless without any issues.
You can put 110 without cutting Chain Cover in ZMR. I have tried MRF 110/90-18 (TubeType) & Pirelli SD 110/80-18 (TubeLess) without cutting chain cover. At present, I have Ceat Vertigo Sport 120/80-18 (TubeLess) with a slight cut in Chain Cover.

Thanks for the reply bro. But guess what, I had posted this a year back. The issue was with front tire sidewalls. I'd slime applied at a road side shop and its running fine since.
I have a PSD 110/90-18 at the rear WITHOUT cutting/even touching the chain cover. I have done almost 17k with that tire. Front is still stock. Never changed it.

I don't want to cut the chain cover, hence next time I might actually stick to 100 mm MRF Vyde or maybe Zapper Q 110/18. PSD when I bought was 3k, but now retails for 4k+ in BLR.
