Can any one help me with my battery which is not getting charged and which had been replaced last year on may 2011 now my warrenty had been expired. i even changed the battery starter after changing it worked fine for one day and the next day the battery was totally down. now iam not able to use my self start and enquired with my mechanic who is advising me to change the battery again. but the other guy with the same mechanic is saying battery is not the issue, but he is not giving me the exact reason what can the problem can be. can any one advise what should i do to solve this problem.Tags: None

Would you mind telling me the name of the bike? The battery brand? And why did it give you a 1 year warranty only?
(By the way, Amaron gives a 4-5 year warranty on bikes and its giving me good service as even my kick lever is removed nowadays.)---

Check battery voltages , discover comes with a acid battery , so check acid and distilled water mix accuracy. as if ur acid level is low and you mix only water so it will not be able to hold the charge. first check the battery and ensure that your battery is ok.if the battery is ok then go for charging unit troubleshooting.sigpic

Check the charging relay and battery
The problem may not be with the battery but with the relay that is responsible for charging the battery. A good mechanic with check if it is working properly or not.
Also you can have a check in any authorized Exide service center and they will help you out, it is not a big issue.Be True to your inner self

Either you have a short in your electricals which is draining the battery OR your regulator/rectifier is faulty. A simple check would be to check the voltage at the battery terminals with the bike running at around 3000 rpm.Originally posted by jovara View PostCan any one help me with my battery which is not getting charged and which had been replaced last year on may 2011 now my warrenty had been expired. i even changed the battery starter after changing it worked fine for one day and the next day the battery was totally down. now iam not able to use my self start and enquired with my mechanic who is advising me to change the battery again. but the other guy with the same mechanic is saying battery is not the issue, but he is not giving me the exact reason what can the problem can be. can any one advise what should i do to solve this problem.
If the voltage at the battery with the bike running is around 13~14V then your RR is charging properly and the problem is a drain in the system.

one of my friend had same type of problem with his bike. his bike was not charging his battery and he had to dhakka start his bike everyday. he also did changed battery and some other parts.
The problem with his bike was the one end of coil was exposed and was getting short. electrician opened the side cover and fixed the coil . i think you should check output of wires coming from coil before changing anything, i dont have pictures but the coil is in the side cover above gears lever. a output wire comes from the coil towards the place battery is fixed and can be checked for output voltage with a ammeter.
otherwise you can ask mechanic to check it , better to go to a auto electrician. other mechanics are interested in changing parts and making money.200NS 25K kms / RE500 7k kms / Electra 30k kms / P150 80K Kms(SOLD) / i10 40k Kms (SOLD) / Tata NEXON 2K Kms
