  • Hero Honda Karizma 2006 battery problem

Hi Friends...I'm using Hero Honda Karizma 2006 & i'm facing some problem with my bike since last few Days...
I replaced my old battery with a new one of Exide 7 A...But just after the replacement, i'm facing problem in staring my bike, specially in the early morning...The lights in the speed meter doesn't blow Up when i switch on the bike...even self-starter also doesn't work..I have to start the bike with kick even by applying choke...& once its get started everything starts working properly, like light cames up in the spped meter & self starter also starts working...
I informed the battery dealer about the same & when check the battery, it was in discharged condition..he takes the battery from me & charged it for few hours & it starts working properly...But unfortunatley same problem arises next morning also...Same thing repeated three to four times ( means charing of battery by the battery dealer ...even its a new battery) but still no hope...The dealer provided a new battery as replacement but same issue with this new battery also...Kindly guide me what problem may be there causing this issue..

From what I understand, the battery isn't getting charged, for which the general culprit is rectifier unit. Also, if you check the output from the charging unit AND if you see the required voltage coming in (don't know how much) then there's electrical leak in the circuit.

This is a common reason for the mentioned issue; since I don't own ZMA & there're several experts like for ZMA - PSR Ji & ravi@17bhp, their suggestions are accurate most of the time. So PM them for their attention.

The fact that even with a flat battery the engine starts with kick and once engine is started everything is working, means that your generator, RR unit are ok..
Check for leak in the wiring..ie., do you have any aftermarket add ons ? and was your wiring tampered with ? if not,... battery may be the culprit ,...you may be getting old stock batteries with less life..
What is the battery Model and Type No ?

You may go to any auto electrician and check if there is enough voltage and current coming at the battery charging terminals?
