    KArthick bro,

even i am being told that the bore of my HH super splendor self start model 2006 model which has done 35000 kms need to be changed , the ASC people tell that white smoke and more engine oil consumption is the symptom of bore kit gone kaput. last time when i gave the bike for service at HH ASC kathipara, the supervisor told that it will cost 7000 rs to change bore kit, when i told howcome the bike has so less engine life he told that HH SS bore life is 30K kms like that only, also when asked about reboring they told they wont encourage reboring being ASC , as reboring is done by local mech / other service centres , they dont support reboring, also even for my bike they neither did any check of piston ring, or any other issue and directly came to the conclusion that engine bore kit needs to be changed. THen i told i cant afford so they told that smoke will come and regularly check engine oil level and keep topping it up,,,, that i am doing but engine oil level is at good level only, not reducing like anything ,,,

Even i am thinking what to do , i feel reboring can be done if you really know a very good trusted mechanic who can do a good job for less that half the price mentioned by ASC. But if mech quotes really high prices it is better to do the job at ASC itself, even now i am in dilemma what to do.

Re: Pulsar 150 2008 model - Smoking and oil gets reduced

I own a UG3 2008 model pulsar. Its overheating very quickly and gets harsher and harsher as the temperature rises. I feel loss in power and decreased top end. I bought it from a friend if my uncle. I never went to ASC. I consult my local mech.I replaced the clutch plates recently. Around 25k on odo. I got this bike when it was 23k on odo. Oil used is Shell AX7. Spark plugs are new. Oil changed in short intervals of 400-500km as i doubted oilwas not proper. Now the mech says bore piston must be changed. But i doubt whether its just due to tappets, worn out valves or something related to timing chain. The AFR is set at optimum as far as i know. Please help me with this issue. Also if possible the amount charged by ASC for checking valves etc.. Thank You.
