    thanks to all of you.....please help me to solve my problem
    i have bajaj discover 135 cc sports edition.purchase on 12-121-2007.
    completed 35000 km.
    the problem is that my bike consuming engine oil after 500-600 km ride at a speed of 70-80 kmph.pick up dropped and engine become smooth and produce more noise than before i have changed it's cluth plate at 25000 km and then it start consuming engine oil but it still manage to run 10000 km (35000 km). mileage not decrease it gives me constant 60kmpl at 50kmph speed and it gives 45kmpl at 80-kmph speed.i have changed sprk plug,air filter ,battery,rear brake and front disk pad.while starting the engine i have to give throttle to maintain bike rpm to idle bike...top speed not decrease.
    if i do engine overhaul like change piston ring and seal like things can i get the same performance which it gives on stock condition or it give some problem after engine overhaul....................need u r suggestion/advice

      Your piston rings might have worn out or maybe you'll need to change your block and piston.
      BTW, I own the same bike but I got 57 kmpl max. How do you get 60kmpl where I can only manage a 52 kmpl in city? :O

        1.Check the exhaust for white/visible smoke.
        2.Change the idle to around 1500rpm when the engine is hot.I have this on my bike and it starts in a single kick or self start.I never faced starting problems with my discover 135.Also if you feel you have to have more than quarter throttle to start,check for valve clearance.It may be the culprit.
        Also how free is your kick rod?Is it abnormal?
        3.Clutch and engine oil consumption do not has any connection.
        4.May i ask if you are using synthetic oil?
        5.Check the engine area for leaks(I hope you have done that).
        6.I would also like to mention that the service guys never take their work serious.Be sure you have filled 1ltr oil and always maintain the oil between the mark.
        Whenever i see bikes or cars i see adrenalin pumps instead of people carriers.Thats the way to define an automobile.

          thanks ulti racer,..... i have checked following as per your suggestion...
          1.no white smoke
          2.changed many times still the problem occur all the time.yes i have to open quarter throttle to start the engine.first time kick feel loose but after 4000 km it become normal.
          3.ok
          4.mineral oil veedol
          5.i have done it,no leakage found.
          6.i myself change the engine oil before 1600 km .

            i am facing problem regarding engine oil consumption and low pick up and also mileage drop near about 40-45kmpl..because i ride it at about 80-100kmph speed.. so...i have decided to check mileage i start riding my bike constant under 50kmph speed 80% highway and 20% city and i got 60kmpl mileage and i have to mention that it is very difficult for me to ride my bike at 50kmph on the highway.i have acheived 60kmpl mileage at 50kmph speed...and i have change carburator setting several times like air/fuel mixture..i have open 3-1/2 turn from full tight.i have tested it for about 25000 km. i have also acheived 80kmpl mileage in 1 ltr.when the service centre guy open the air/fuel mixture screw about 2 turn from full tight.only 1 time to check the mileage on ludhiana road (highway).after that i my self adjust it to 3-1/2 turn from full tight and it gives me about 58-60kmpl in 50kmph speed and 45kmpl at 80kmph speed
