  • TVS Wego does not start - How to handle TVS SVC ??

The wego at home has been running normally for a little under an year. Yesterday morning I took it out, and did the usual routine - let engine idle for 30 seconds, go slowly for 5 minutes and then ride normally. It accelerated normally and suddenly started loosing momentum and stopped. I had to push it back 3km to reach home. I tried kick starting as well as button starting it and the engine used to come to life, a little bit of throttle later, it simply stopped.

I verified its condition and its the same today.

What could be wrong with it ?

Also, its under warranty and I plan to take it to the SVC soon. Kindly advice on the approach I should take with the service people. I have heard several horror stories of service centers cheating people and I plan to take every precaution against that and have solid legal defence against TVS in case of eventual trouble by:
    1. Take a video of the initial conversation with the SVC and also after they fix the issue, to ensure that whatever they say is on record.
    2. Get them to sign an undertaking stating whatever they have done with the vehicle and also note if they refused to listen to me and replace a part and chose to fix it instead. If they refuse to sign an undertaking, then videograph their refusal.

Any other suggestions ? I plan to sue the living daylights out of them if they cause ANY trouble and escalate the issue to ridiculous proportions and bring uber-loads of negative publicity behind me.

      Thanks for the approval.

I took it yesterday to the SVC. BTW the mechanic did something with the accelerator and it started working again, and he said there seems nothing wrong with the scooter. (Thankfully) they were ready to check it again to see if something is wrong and I got the scooter back yesterday itself. It was fine when I took it back home. Tomorrow I'll probably get to test it on outer ring road at high speeds once again and will know for sure if something is still wrong still or not.

Anyone has any idea what may have caused this sort of behaviour all of a sudden ?

I must agree, TVS has much friendlier SVC guys and showroom sales people than many others (I'm particularly pointing at Hero and Honda). Maybe I overreacted after an acquaintance was taken for a ride (pun intended) when his Apache RTR 160 screwed up.

Anyway, how is your experience with the Wego at (gradual) high speed runs ? At 75 to 80 km/h ?

And how do you handle such a situation ?

You definitely overreacted at the beginning!! TVS service centers are really good now! I own a tvs for 2 months now and i'm really happy with their service. Wego is a good scooter planing to buy it soon. I've seen people yelling at the SVC guys for no reason. Be polite and friendly with them and when needed "reward" them I've seen apache owners giving a 50 to the kid who's washing the bikes and he really takes care of those bikes
