  • Tyre problem in FZ-S

I own a Green Yamaha FZ-S (Nov 2010). It is a beauty but to my dismay the very second day I had her, she had a puncher in the rear tire. I am about 150 kgs, so I though my weight might have been the reason. But this happens frequently and the tire also blotted( only 1500 kms on the odometer). So I contacted the MFR guys and they replaced my tire free of cost. Now I have clocked about 17000 kms with the replaced tire and 15 nails still in it. I would like to change my tires to another brand. Need your expertise in this field.

Low air pressure in the tire is the main reason for a puncture.

do make it a habit to check and refill the tire with air more often.

And 15 nails still in the tire??? Care to explain?

I keep about 40 psi of air pressure due to my weight. I have a pressure gauge to check the pressure which I check every day . The reason for 15 nails is that I got fed up with the punctures. 12 nails has been previously removed. Hence left the 15 nails and I top up the pressure as and when required. I don't know whether it is the tyre or my weight and more over I ride only in city road(Chennai) no off roading as such. Kindly advise me which make of tyre should I change next.

no tyre is puncture resistant, unless you install runflat tyres on your car, On a bike there is no tyre made to my knowledge.

Perhaps trying some preventative measures like tyre slime or similar.
Change where you ride on the road, Perhaps go an alternate route if u can.

          already discussed: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...16-a-1400.html

front tire keep it stock. Use Ride On TPS gel in your tires to prevent punctures.

Thanks for the advise. Just one question may be silly though what is TPS gel and how it works on the tires. Just for knowledge sake.
