  • [Photo Feature]: TVS Suzuki Supra (FC)

    Hi All,

I own a TVS Suzuki Supra (1988) for which i need to renew the Fitness Certificate (FC). I am in a kind of fix now as the chassis number on the bike has faded and is not visible clearly. It either needs an re-etching or to be pressed in a different area on the chassis. It will be very helpful if someone could guide me as to where in Bangalore can this be done?

I tried carving it with a geometry compass, but did not work. This is to be done since the RTO guys try to imprint the chassis number on the FC form by scratching over it with a pencil. I am unable to ride the bike due to expiry of FC.

Thanks for all the help in advance..

JC Road seems to be the apt destination.

Get it pressed at a dealer there. There are n number of shops in J C Road who carry out such activities.

Nice to know you're responsible enough to not ride without an FC.

i think most of the service centers can do it. atleast my service center can. not a big issue.

but get it done at the exact same spot where the chassis number was earlier, otherwise RTO may get suspicious.

otherwise, contact any agent give him money, he will write the number on a RIN soap with a sharp object and take its pencil tracing and get the job done.

OT:- Can you post some close up pics of Supra? I'm a 2stroker and seeing these exotics is rare. Is this 12bhp?

                  Hi bro,

Glad to meet a fellow 2 stroke fan... Yes it indeed WAS a 12bhp (Model year 1988) version in its hay days!. But i inherited it from my uncle in a very sorry state, after incessant begging and hard work.!!!. But you might be disappointed to know that very little of what is left is original. I had to change the cylinder bore, a new piston and a carb. Apparently it had taken a lot of abuse in it's prime. I doubt whether it still produces 12bhp, the top speed is only 110 kmpl(as per the speedometer). I have touched that speed only thrice in 4 years... However the chassis, the tank, the front forks and assembly and also the rims and wheels have survived...

Here u go with the pics.. Thanks...

                            +1 to that.
On a lighter note, you could also contact karthikdattag for the spares but, be prepared to pay a bomb.
