  • Urgent advice needed for tubeless tyres in gs 150r.

Hello everyone. I yesrterday got a new gs150r... I talked to the best tyre vendor in my city for getting new tires exchanged for tubeless tyres for my new bike. He says he will do it for 1200.. MRF zappler tubeless tyres. But i have few queries:

    1. I have heard there is no exact tubeless tyre size in the market for front GS 150r tyre. I enquired the shop owner, he says its availble..

    2. I read somewhere alloys of GS 150 r are not made to sustain tubeless tyres.

Kindly help me with your valued advice. My no. is 0977142))(^

    Thanks in advance.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I don't think that matters!! Infact i would have been little septical in spoke wheel, due to spoke holes. But in alloy wheel if your measurements are same then why would there be a problem ??

I have heard that alloys are too of different types depends on their strenght.

I guess mileage would be hit here!! Can any one put more light ??
      Rest no issues!!

AFAIK, the alloys designed for tubeless tyres need to have different edge compared to tubed ones, as it need to lock the air inside it.
Many Hunk/Xtreme owners who have tubeless tyres are facing problems of air leakage, eventhough their alloys are desinged for tubeless tyres.
So check with the tyre shop itself if they can point to some GS150R which has tubeless tyres installed by them.

Bro, congrats for your GS150R. There was a similar discussion in the ownership thread of Suzuki GS150r - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...s150r-779.html. Pls check the link, guess it might be of some help. All the best

Any tyre shop who does the fitting can test the tyre in f ront of you with your alloy and then get it fixed.

Thats good if they do so.
But most of the probs start after using the tyre for quite some time, so was just advising OP to make sure that there are other GSR's running tubeless with stock rims.

Hello everyone. Thank you all for feed back. Decided not to change the tyres after consultation with another tyre vendor. He said that vavle is pretty small in my stock rim and ain't advisable. Better stick to stock tyres.I agreed as I trust his advice. My gs150r has clicked 140 kms in 3 days. Tell me some real good tricks to ensure good life of engine.

                Thanks in advance.

                  Good decision IMO.
It would be mentioned in your user manual to keep the rpm/speed under certain limit until you complete some odd 1000kms.
                  This is the basic thing.
