  • A Quick Question on Insurance

One of my friend did undergo a mishap 2 months ago, Initially the Insurance service agent told us we have to submit all the required documents and Bills needs to be submitted withing 60 days of accident. We had sybmitted the FIR copy,Estimation copy etc. but now due to the repair bill submission is getting delayed due to spares unavailability.

Has anyone faced similar situation, How does the insurance desk behave if he we did not submit the Bills on time?

    Thread Approved

I guess as long as the repairs were approved by the surveyor, the Insurance company should pay up.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

As Antz. said, Once the surveyor approves a claim, the insurance company has to pay it.

To be on the safe side, get something in writing form the SVC regarding the unavailability of the spares.

One more thread on the insurance which I created, http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...ced-parts.html

Which Insurance Company? I submitted my bills after more than 2 months and had one such issues. However I'm yet to get my check from the insurance company as I submitted only couple of days back.

Also, AFASK, the is no deadline in bill submission but there is deadline for reporting the accident which you would have already known by now.

Thanks for pitching in, Good that you already had collected required information on claims. I think the insurance company is United India, Initially we have been informed a deadline of 60 days for all submissions. I understand you have paid for the expense and applied for reimbursements. In our case the estimated repair cost is more than 2 Lakh so trying to escalate for cashless claims. So the deadline is only for Incident & surveyor report, no deadlines for bills settlements even in the case of cashless claims? We will still be paying our share but the remaining has to be directly paid to the service center by the insurance company.

Find out the Insurance company's office where your policy is registered (i.e where your premiums are deposited) and visit them to inform of the inevitable delay in bill production . Do this asap .
