  • re bullet engine issue

    hello, pls help me
i own a 2007 model re bullet standard which has done 30k kms now
one day when i was on my way back home the bike started making a sound like hitting on a metal ,i doesn't cared about it but now the sound has increased a lot so i went to my mechanic .he after inspecting the bike told that the clotting bush has been damaged (due to entering of water into engine oil) and has to replace it.
i was shocked to hear that for replacing it ,it may cost around 10k INR. he mentioned that for replacing it, the engine has to be opened that's why this amount is needed. he also warned me not to ride it any more with this issue.

Is this a true issue and will it costs this much .iam a student and i can't spare such a huge amount for maintenance.(sorry for my bad English)
    pls help me

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

As far as i know he is not correct, the only way water can enter a bullets engine is if u deliberatly pour some !!!, IMO the sound is either of tappets or crank shaft or even a faulty gear ring....he is right in term of oppening the entire engine but 10k is way to high u can get a new engine of 350 cc from open market in 9000 !!!!! try some other and listen carefully is it from the left of engine or right side.

Why don't you try Authorized service center ?
I think they'd be more reliable...

Also, you can check in Enfield ownership threads, they'd be able to help you I believe.
And what's this clotting bush, hearing for first time!
