  • Buying second hand Bike! Inter-State re-registeration Help!

So I am planning to get a second hand bike from a friend in my project. I have a few questions before I make the call.

    1. The Bike has run only 9.5K Km in last 3 years. FZ 2009 model. The bike is in good condition. Run at max 1K in last one year.
    2. The Bike has registration of TN and I am in Bangalore. Cops are a f$%^%$^ disgrace here so what documents I need to have.
    3. Do I need to go to TN to get any of those documents ?
    4. Whats the price I should pay max ?

    Will appreciate the help guys.

      Second hand bike re-registeration

I'm planning to buy a second hand bike . The problem is that it is out of registeration . The bike was previously registered in Karnataka , but is now in Tamil Nadu . Can I get it re-registered in Chennai ?

Don't go for a second hand FZ because latest models are more mileage delivers!!

I feel it fishy, how come in 3 yrs only 9.5kms only ?? that is average of 3.1k Kms a year???

And still if you think of buying it, then it should range from 30-35k only!! as it's 3 yrs old.

get a mech with you before finalizing!!

interstate bikes are headache to buy!!

        DocsL
        1. Id Proof
        2. Address proof
        3. NOC from previous registered RTO
        4. valid insurance
        5. Valid PUC

It's better you don't buy interstate bike, else consult an agent!!

If the bike is just 9500 kms.. the price will be much higher than 35K.
Secondly. you will need to pay the road tax in bngalore to ride it tension free. The problem is that you would not be able to transfer the ownership of the vehicle without going to the TN RTO.

Thanks mate for your reply. The guy bought the bike and then upgraded to a car in less than 6 months. His brother also left India so the bike was eating dust.

I then thought to have a go and bike is in good condition and have ridden some 200 km in it in last week. The average is close to 30 only right now.

The only problem with the bike is the Interstate number

Well that really bumps me. Going to TN will be a pain.

I am thinking hard right now to actually buy this or pick up a new 200NS.

^^ Seems like an inherent problem in andhra pradesh, best tip in future is to transfer your ownership via an agent.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

There's something called Sale Agreement Form that has to be filled in by the seller (you, in this case) & to be submitted in the RTO where your vehicle was registered. The form looks like one of these...
http://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/...O-Form-TCR.pdf (this is how mine looked)

The benefit of getting this form signed & sending to RTO is that, even if the new owner (buyer, in your case) has not registered the vehicle under his name, you can still be worry free. Not to frighten you, but if there're any criminal activities done that is associated with this vehicle's registration, the address on the RTO still points out to you.

The only glitch for you here is to get the buyer signature on this form. If you're able to get it done, then you're safe.
