  • Insufficient fuel supply at low revs in Pulsar 200NS

A couple of days ago I took my bike to 80+ kms ride (to and fro). I am currently 750+ kms on the odo.
While the up journey, there was a moment where I was riding at an average of 60+ kmph constantly, and then I had to slow down for some heavy traffic. Now, when i slowed down, I found that no fuel was getting supplied at low revs.. I downshifted to 2nd and then to 1st gear, but still there was no fuel supply at low throttle.I had to rev the throttle high (with half clutch pulled in) to keep the engine running!! After sometime, the problem got corrected itself.., but the bike was giving hiccups (jerky motion) while riding at low revs!!

Surprising, while at down journey, the fuel went to reserve, and then i did not find any such issue. (though the road was quite clear at that time, and i hardly rode the bike at low revs)

Today morning, I found out, the bike started at on push of button. But sice I idle it for about 30 sec or so, the engine died died after a few sec, and then refused to start. I had to twist the throttle quite a bit to make the bike fire up. Then keeping the Bike on Neutral, i found that there is Insufficient fuel supply at low revs. To put it more descriptively, if I hold the throttle at low RPM (1.5-2k), then there is hardly any fuel supply, and then after 3-5 sec there is a burst of oil supply, and the RPM increases instantly to 3.5-4K. (mind u that my bike is still in reserve)

I think there is some dirt/problem in the carb. Can you guys pls suggest what should I do??
    Thanks in advance..

You've have diagnosed the issue by yourself, just take it to ASS and get the carb & Auto Choke Mechanism examined. That should solve the issue. Post that, fill fuel only from a reputed pump to avoid these kind of clogs in future.

Most of the issues faced by 200 NS is from carb issues, right?Improper tuning, flat spots, irregular mileage etc
        Why is it so?

It is the problem with the carb. Tuning is not correct. Get that checked.

Only 2 possibilities, pilot jets getting clogged or improper tuning, since you din't mention about this being present form day 1 and either about you changing the carb settings, i suggest that it's the jets getting clogged due to impurities in the fuel. get the carb cleaned and get a proper tuning done. It'll be alright soon.
