Today while I was cleaning my bike's carb, I noticed that the manifold's intake (the place where the rubber hose from carb meets the manifold) has a fine covering of alloy dust. When I slowly rubbed my finger on it and checked it under sun, it was mix of manifold dust, mud, oil and carbon (soot).
I'm really worried now due to following :
1. Off late my bike is loosing punch. I suspected compression drop, but now I know the reason.
2. How do I clean this dust from entire manifold? Will aerosol sprays (carb clean) help in dislodging it from entire cylinder and blast it out the exhaust?
3. If I need to clean entire bore by hand, does this mean I have change the block piston, rings and lathe the valves to get back the punch?
Will A.S.S do this kinda of job? You will not believe what one Bajaj A.S.S told me last Friday - "We do not clean carb now days sir, do not touch it". If this is the kind of knowledge capital that Bajaj A.S.S in Hyderabad has, then I'm screwed with the current situation. They might very well wipe it with a ragged cloth and say, its clean.
Guys, need your advice on this case.

but 4 stroke is all different. other xbhpians have done this, they may help. . for the time being tell me more about that alloy dust.. is it really like dust I mean "dhul" (in hindi) ?? engine heat should cause it to melt or at least stick.. Btw, how's the overall performance? Did you tried peeking into cylinder through spark plug hole?
, but more like phoren style by using decarb solution and gadgets. Coming back to dust, its very fine. Its almost the consistency and texture of fire cracker powder that we see in diwali crackers. Silver, little heavy (solid to touch), fine and sharp. If you rub it between your fingers, you can actually feel it dig into your skin.
