Following are the specs of the electrical system.
1. 60/55W H4 Headlamp -- Data from official website ( though in the manual its given as 35/35W )
2. 12V 6 Ah Battery -- Data from official website ( manual its stated as 12V 5Ah )
3. Again in manual its given as 0.27 kW alternator @ min. 5000 rpm
What happened : ( skip if its boring )
The issue is that, a couple of days back, the hi-low beam switch has struck in between and my headlamp stopped working. Checked with the ASC. Those guys didn't even cared to open the switch gear. They just applied some oil and tried to release the struck switch and the attempt failed. So, they told me that they have to change the entire switch assembly and as spares are not available, I have to wait for a month. I came home, figured a way to open the switch assembly, and found that the Hi-Low switch has gone kaput and its not working. But, there were soldering points above the switch visible, and so I short circuited two points and now I cannot switch the lo and high beam but, light is working. But only later found that, in this way, BOTH BEAMS ARE ALWAYS ON.
Question :
So, will there be any problem to the battery or headlamp ( only if I switch on the lights when engine is running ) if both the beams ( i.e., both High and Low beam filaments ) are on at the same time??
