Discover-guy to the rescue: Turning it clockwise will richen the mix and vice versa.
Actually to avoid this confusion here's the confirmed way:Turning the SCREW out will lean the mixture and turning the SCREW in (clockwise) will richen the mixture.

Edit 1:The Discover has a Mikuni in my opinion. I will check.
Edit 2: I am sorry,it a Keihin. My bad. It's the Gladiator effect at work.

It doesn't apply to all carbs in general. If the screw is at the front part of the carb, then it controls the fuel flow. Hence, SCREW in will lean out the mixture and vice versa.

If the screw is located at the rear part of the carb, then it controls air flow. Hence, what you said works.

Correct me if I am wrong.

He was asking about the tuning of the airscrew of the Discover. And in the Discover it's located at the front of the carb. It's the Keihin NCV Z63.
I wish I had my Discover,so that I could explain it with pics.

thats not the airscrew baba....... was referring to the screw on the left of the carb..... and as hyper said it depends on where the air screw is situated either at the back or the front of the carb... just wanted to confirm.....thks guys...........more feedback pls

instead of changing the carb why not just upjet it and put a new air filter that allows more air inside .
