  • 3 different bikes, one same problem- Bike runs without acceleration

    Bikes in question-

    Suzuki GS150R- 2010 make,10100 KMS ODO (TS's bike)
Honda Unicorn- 2006 make, 30000 KMS ODO
Bajaj Pulsar 130LS- 21000 KMS ODO

    Problems faced-

    1.
When we start our bikes & put it in gear 1, accelerate & leave accelerator after, for instance 50 mtrs, the bike just won't stop & will go on running at a minimal speed for a very, very long distance.
The RPM would be normal at say between 1200-1500 and only when I apply brakes, does it stop. This is weird that all these bikes above have the exact same issue. We three have all together different style of riding & live in different areas of the city too. Discovered the same problem in their bikes when I discussed about it with them.
Facing it since a long time now. Fuel efficiency has dropped drastically. Even the feeling is not as good it was. I last serviced at 7500 for the 1st time in a Suzuki SC & after that it's just not fun riding this super awesome bike anymore.

    2. Suggest some major changes/ replacement I do within the bike (SuzukiGS150R) in the next service for fuel efficiency & power. Because of fuel efficiency problem, I have been filling petrol for not more than RS. 200 because once I did for RS. 500 & it was gone very soon.

Chirag, #1 is normal behavior on all bikes. Its definitely not a problem which would cause FE to drop.

For #2 If I am not wrong, that last service your bike got was over 8-10 months back. Please get your bike to the nearest Suzuki Service Center ASAP and give it a nice service. Change the oil and oil filter (if any), change the spark plug, change the air filter, adjust chain slack, clean and lube the chain, tighten nuts and bolts, adjust tappets and top up battery water (if applicable). Most of your problems will be solved if you follow these basic and simple steps.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Its a normal thing. Even in 4wheeler its the same thing.
Regarding fuel economy many factors come into existence.Do the service and then check the economy.
